This was designed by architect Samuel Maclure in 1893 in Victoria. He was born in New Westminster BC and moved to Victoria in 1892. He designed mostly residential buildings in Victoria and Vancouver however he did work on notable projects such as Hatley Castle, Colwood and was a landscape consultant to Mrs. Butchart at her public gardens for many years.
