I just found this Better Homes and Gardens decorating book from 1968. This dining room reminds me of ours from the 70's. We had similar black and gold wallpaper that was flocked. The rest of our room had accents of red rather than orange as here. We also had flocked wallpaper in our bathroom, that was a bamboo pattern.
