fawn lily

Finally a hint that spring is coming with the emergence of this beautiful native flower Erythronium oregonum. It only stands about 6" high and its head hangs down so this is a different perspective of it. The foliage is also very beautiful so I'll post an image of that soon too.

bronze leaf

A little bit better attempt at scanography. This was scanned at 1200 dpi, the highest I can go on my scanner.

queen anne's lace

This is Queen Anne's Lace after it has gone to seed.  It seems to turn itself inside out and looks like a little nest.

orchid

I'm not sure what kind of orchid this is.  The patterning on it is very detailed - it reminds me of a Victorian velvet or wallpaper.

pink

I'm just about to strip a flowered wallpaper border off of a bedroom that is painted in this shade of pink. It suits the flower, not so sure about the bedroom.

blue bells

I'm not sure what this flower is; it appeared recently in the garden and is not like any other plant that we have.  I'm a big fan of stripes, that's why I like the flower so much.

blooming lilac

I suspect a number of midnight raids are going on right now while the lilac is in bloom.

amaryllis

à la Georgia O'Keefe except the amaryllis is not quite as suggestive as the orchid.

white fawn lily

This is the white fawn lily that has just recently come into bloom in Metchosin. This one is at Witty's Lagoon but the best display is currently carpeting the grounds of St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church.

A walk through the Stanley Park rose garden, on the way to Beaver Lake.
