kampa women
In contrast to yesterday's post, here are the women of Kampa Museum. These figures are not by the same artist as the Humanoids; I'm not sure who the artist is.

Humanoid figures by Polish textile artist Magdalena Abakanowicz, probably dating from the 1970's or '80's. The figures are constructed from sackcloth and resin.

bikes and penguins
Only a few days left in the Tour de France. This painting from the Kampa Museum, Prague reminds of the epic race although in this image, it looks like Lady Diana on the bike. I wonder if the Tour de France would ever let women in the race?

The John Lennon Wall in Prague. It was started after his death in 1980 and survived attempts at removal by Communist authorities. Now it is a tourist attraction.

penny woodens

These dolls were named for the price that they originally cost, a penny. They date from the end of the 19th century and originated in the Dolomites, part of the Alps. This grouping is part of the Prague Castle Toy Museum collection.
