under the oak

The Garry Oak is one of my favourite trees.  They remind me of the forest that comes to life in the Wizard of Oz.

Apparently Oak Bay in Victoria is named after the Garry Oak.  Their motto is Sub Quercu Felicitas, latin for "Under the Oak, Good Fortune."

not an indian plum

I thought that this was a flowering Indian Plum but it's not.  It is however, a resident of Swan Lake.
