Growing up, we had beautiful blue velvet curtains hanging in our living room. My mother had them custom made. We had them for 30 years.

This image is from a design course that I did 18 years ago when I studied textiles.  This is an exercise in simultaneous contrast - the robin's egg blue changes in tone depending on what colours are next to it.
