park no park

Have you ever seen the film Blowup from the '60's? The story involves a london photographer who inadvertently takes a photo of a body in a park with a possible hidden killer. The image is not seen until it is blown up many times.

This park that I just discovered has a different topography. The Blowup park was hillier and had more trees but its eery emptiness reminded of the other landscape.

ophelia

This chalk drawing by a Victoria street artist is based on the art of J.W. Waterhouse. He is considered a modern Pre-Raphaelite, working at the end of the 19th, beginning of the 20th centuries.

Ophelia is putting flowers in her hair, moments before her death by drowning.

This particular drawing had been rained on for 3 days so that added to its ghostly quality.

and the same to you!

I know I post a lot of deer images but they happen to visit quite often and that doesn't usually happen when you live in an apt. in the city.

Normally this deer is quite well behaved but when I chased her from the flowers the other day, this was her reaction. She thought that I didn't see her but now I have the evidence.

squirrel mom

Normally the squirrel and I have a debate about whether he can have the birdseed. Yesterday I noticed that he looked kind of plump. I then figured that he was a she and was probably pregnant so I let her have a snack. Sitting about 3 feet apart, we each had our respective meals.

breathe

I ride a short circuit on my bike that ends on the summit of this long hill. At the top, I always see these 2 arbutus trees arced like parenthesis and I try to remember to breathe.
